What is a dental inlay?

The dental inlay is a restoration that is prepared at the oral level by the dentist and sent to a dental laboratory to be made in order to repair a piece of the posterior sector that has been affected by decay or trauma and where one or more dental walls are compromised so they have a moderate damage. In the second appointment, the temporary inlay is removed and the inlay sent by the laboratory is definitively cemented. If endodontics (nerve treatment) is required beforehand, these appointments can be extended.
