Importance of replacing missing teeth

Tooth loss - Smiles for Everyone

Many people are unaware that tooth loss is more than just a cosmetic problem, so it is not given the importance it deserves.

It is important to mention that tooth loss can be caused by cavities, gum disease or accidents. Cavities and gum problems can be prevented with good brushing technique, daily flossing and regular visits to your dentist. Unfortunately, accidents are not always preventable and this makes us all vulnerable.

Once some teeth have been lost, we should try to replace them as soon as possible, in order to avoid tooth movement and changes in chewing.

New dental trends point to fixed restorations such as dental implants, dental crowns and dental bridges. In the latter case, the teeth adjacent to the empty space must be worn down to be used as abutments for a structure that will be permanently placed to replace the missing teeth.

Currently, the best option available is dental implants, since it replaces the root of the tooth that was lost without the need to "wear down" any neighboring dental piece (as happens in the case of dental bridges) and subsequently, a crown will be placed, which in function and esthetics will imitate the natural tooth.

We know that for decades removable prostheses were the only accessible option for many; however, today they are not recommended because they almost never fit optimally, they trap food debris and bacteria, they favor bone loss and the esthetic result is not natural.

If you have lost one, several or all of your teeth, we have the solution! Give yourself a chance and rediscover the pleasure of smiling.
