Dental Bridges in Costa Rica

Restore your Smile and Functionality

The oral cavity is like a gear: when one piece is missing, the whole system is affected. The absence of one or more teeth can generate esthetic and functional problems that compromise chewing, speech and oral health in general.

At Sonrisa Para Todoswe offer treatments of fixed dental bridges in Costa Ricaone of the most effective solutions to restore your smile and give it back its natural function.

What are Dental Bridges?

The dental bridges are fixed prostheses that replace one or more missing teeth, restoring esthetics, functionality and confidence. They work by resting on adjacent teeth prepared as abutments or, in some cases, on dental implants.

  • Restore chewing

  • Improve phonation

  • Prevent movement of adjacent teeth

  • Restore the esthetic harmony of the smile

They are a highly recommended alternative when the adjacent teeth are able to support the prosthesis.

Preguntas frecuentes sobre puentes dentales en Costa Rica

Do dental bridges damage adjacent teeth?

Traditional bridges require preparation of the adjacent teeth, which involves controlled wear. In cases where these teeth already need restoration (crowns), this is not a problem. For patients with healthy adjacent teeth, implant-supported bridges are an alternative that preserves them intact.

The entire process generally requires 2-3 visits spread over 2-3 weeks for traditional bridges. In case of implant-supported bridges, the total time may be extended to 3-6 months due to the period required for osseointegration.

Initially there may be a short period of adaptation (1-2 weeks), but most patients quickly get used to it and soon feel the bridge as a natural part of their mouth.

While an implant individually replaces the root of each missing tooth, a bridge spans the gap using adjacent teeth or implants for support. Implants preserve bone better in the long term, while bridges can be a quicker and, in some cases, more economical solution initially.

With good care and regular check-ups, dental bridges can last 10 to 15 years.

Yes, with materials such as zirconium or lithium disilicate we achieve an appearance very similar to natural teeth.

It depends on each case. Implants are ideal when there are no strong adjacent teeth, while bridges are an excellent option when neighboring teeth can act as support.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so it is painless. There may be a slight posterior sensitivity that disappears in a few days.
